Policing is under an unprecedented attack by this government that will have major consequences on public safety and policing as we know it.
This is not just about pay and conditions this is about the future of policing in this country. As well as facing a 20% cut in funding the Police force is being politicised through directly-elected police and crime commissioners. And parts of the service are being ripened for privatisation.
Policing is a public service. There is no room for shareholders making a profit.
